Description
A long, slim, cylindrical shaped beetroot, with a dark red colour to both the outer smooth skin and the inner sweet tasting flesh. Ideal variety for slicing.
Sowing Time: Sow seeds from mid March to July, or under glass in January to February to crop May onwards.
Germination: Germinates at 8 - 25°C.
Sowing Instructions: Pre-soak the seeds in warm water 1 hour before sowing (This will help to speed up germination). Sow seeds outdoors very thinly in drills 3cm (1 in) deep in rows 30cm (12in) apart.
Growing Instructions: When the seedlings are big enough to handle thin them out to 10cm (4in) apart.
After Care: Pull the beetroot when the roots are 1 1/2" in diameter or bigger.
